Four ways to get a room going.

Whether you run a venue, you're planning a company away day, or maybe want something special for your own private party, there's a format here that works for your crowd. Everything is hosted live, built around your needs for the night, and nothing comes off a shelf — apart from my equipment.

Quiz Nights

From a traditional pub quiz to a fully themed corporate night — if it's a topic, it can be a round.

Quiz nights are the most versatile thing in live entertainment. The format is simple enough that anyone can play, but there's enough room to make each night completely different depending on the crowd, the venue, and what you're trying to achieve.

The weekly Wednesday night at Temper and Brown runs as a SpeedQuizzing format — fast rounds, live scoring on phones, and a room that gets competitive, but in a fun way — especially when the specialist rounds hit and people are wondering what on earth inspired the theme this week. It suits a regular crowd who want something to come back to week after week.

Private and one-off bookings can go in any direction. General knowledge, themed nights around a subject your crowd actually cares about, local knowledge rounds built around your venue or your town, or full corporate builds with branded materials and custom content. The questions are written fresh for every booking — nothing recycled.

Teams of any size, but we recommend capping them at 6 players, for ease and ensuring everyone gets involved. Solo players always welcome. Suitable for pub nights, work socials, wedding entertainment, charity events, and private parties.

BeatsBingo

Music bingo for everyone. No musical knowledge needed, any theme, any age group.

BeatsBingo is music bingo done properly. Players get a card with artist and track names, clips play through the room, and the first to complete their card wins. The rules take about thirty seconds to explain and the room is usually loud within the first round.

The thing that makes it work is that nobody needs to know music. You don't have to name a tune or remember a year — you just have to recognise it or spot it on your card. That makes it genuinely inclusive in a way that a lot of quiz formats aren't. But don't worry if you still don't know the answer, it appears on the screen after 10 seconds and the host will also read it out — making sure everyone can play and potentially win.

Themes can go anywhere. Pop classics, 90s R&B, show tunes, K-pop, Eurovision, decade nights, genre nights, artist specials. If there's a playlist to be built around it, it can be a BeatsBingo round. Multiple rounds in a night means you can mix themes or keep it focused depending on what the room wants.

Works well as a standalone night, as part of a mixed entertainment evening, or alongside karaoke as a warmer. Run it yourself with the Mac app, or hire us to host.

Karaoke

Properly hosted karaoke — which makes more difference than most venues realise.

A great host knows how to get everyone involved, keep the mood up between songs and manage those who might want to steal the show. Plus, they ensure the room is always cheering and applauding those brave enough to perform, even when someone just doesn't have the range they think they have or only knows the chorus.

We have a huge collection of songs from all sorts of genres. There are no strict song bans unless the venue specifically requests them, and even then, we can usually work out some exceptions.

This format is perfect for pub nights, hen and stag parties, birthday celebrations and visits to care homes where residents are eager to join in rather than just watch. The energy can be adjusted to suit the space — a large bar on a Friday night needs a different vibe than a small, intimate gathering, and the host will make sure to match the atmosphere.

The most important thing is that everyone has a good time.

Corporate Events

Christmas parties, team building, product launches. Built around your team, not a generic template.

Corporate entertainment works best when it reflects the culture of the company putting it on. Generic quiz nights with questions nobody cares about, karaoke in a hired room with no host energy, bingo that feels like it was pulled from a stock list — none of it lands the way it should.

Every corporate booking starts with a conversation about what your company actually needs. A team that's been through a hard quarter needs something that lets people laugh and relax. A product launch needs an event with momentum and something to remember. A new team that hasn't gelled yet needs a format that gets people talking to colleagues they wouldn't normally speak to.

From there, the format gets built to fit. Custom quiz content, branded materials, themed BeatsBingo rounds built around the company's culture or industry, or a mixed evening that combines formats for a longer event.

Suitable for teams of any size. Has been delivered for small close-knit teams and large corporate away days. No minimum or maximum headcount — the format adapts to the room.
